Throwing a Large Suprise Birthday Party.Keeping Your Party a Secret, Party Supplies, Venue, etc.

One of the most difficult parts of planning a large surprise birthday party is keeping the surprise from the recipient. There are several means of getting the word out to invite your guests. A few of these are to write, email or call them. However, two of these means of communicating leave evidence in one form or another. With email there is the chance that you or one of your invitees might accidently forward the message, especially if you ask them to forward the message! Just be very careful if you chose to go this route. If you decide to mail your invites to local friends, there is the chance that the invitations might be seen by your would be surprise party recipient if they happen to drop by. Many people post invitations on their fridge or other conspicuous place where they are easily read, which could ruin your surprise. Your best bet is to call everyone and emphasize over the phone that it is a surprise birthday party.

Decorating for your surprise party can be difficult if you are having the party in the same home that the recipient also lives, such as with a family member or spouse. You may want to consider renting a place for your party. However, this can make it more difficult to make it a surprise as most venues you will find are more than likely not a natural place you would normally go. When selecting your party supplies it often helps to come up with some kind of a theme for your party. Pick a theme that reflects the personality for whom you are throwing the party. More than anything, have fun!
