I had always heard that the Daiwa BG90 was a durable reel, but I never dreamed that it would hold up as well as it did on my month fishing in Australia. I literally fished all around the continent for a solid month. The strong metal construction and rigid frame let the Daiwa BG90 step up to the challenge, and come through with flying colors. This reel was dropped, bumped and dipped in saltwater on a daily basis, and still showed not signs of damage or corrosion. The anodized finish really proved to be a lifesaver. This is a reel that I will keep forever with its understated black and gold finish and classic wooden grip. My thought is that if it survived my month in Australia, the BG90 can stand up to anything.
